#1007 Shared Unix Hosting - Advanced Notification of cPanel Downtime for Upgrades

We have now scheduled the upgrades for cPanels 5, 6, 7 and 8. Details of when the upgrade process will begin are as follows:
6am (BST) Tuesday, July 8 - cPanel 08
6am (BST) Tuesday, July 15 - cPanel 05
6am (BST) Friday, July 18 - cPanel 06
6am (BST) Tuesday, July 22 - cPanel 07
We anticipate each upgrade will take approximately 3 hours - however we are unable to guarantee they will be completed within this time frame.
Due to the change in MySQL, customers on these servers are advised to ensure their code is fully compliant with the requirements for MySQL 5.x. Further details on this and other major differences between the cPanel versions - and associated software - can be seen in the following Knowledge Base article:

We recommend that all customers on these cPanel servers consult this article to ensure they are prepared for the change as soon as possible.
Prior to the upgrades we are investigating the creation of php.ini files to minimise the impact on customers with modified .htaccess files. As part of this process customers may see files named htaccess.zen and php.ini.zen; if these files are present they must not be deleted as doing so could cause problems with a site following the upgrade.
To check which cPanel server your website is hosted on you can use the following checker:
